The first camouflage-free images of the upcoming MG CS SUV have been released in China.

Website auto.ifeng.com states the car has now been officially presented to the Chinese Ministry of Information, clearing the way for MG’s first SUV to go on sale in early 2015 and is being listed with a 2.0 litre petrol engine.

The styling has been toned down since the original concept, the CS was originally expected to be the first MG to enjoy a simultaneous launch in both China and Britain. however press speculation suggests it will take at least 12 months for the SUV to arrive from China, with a mid-2016 launch more likely.

  1. I’m underwhelmed. It’s sad that MG has to stoop to the SUV market for sales in any event, but to do it with such a pathetic, ugly MG5 look-a-like is really too much. What happened to “Sports Cars”? It’s tough to support the brand when they offer vanilla flavored clones of Kia and Hyundai.

  2. Oh god, what’s happened to it!!
From the angular and exciting concept to this dull blamonge!
I can only hope that the UK version by the time it eventually gets here will be a little better detailed. There are double deck buses that now look far more adventurous than this sadly
